Live in the shape of light A new visual language for a collectible address.

Insight
Distinction shines brighter when meaning runs deeper.
In a city increasingly fluent in branded luxury, distinction could no longer come from status alone. To reflect this, Baccarat Residences Saadiyat was designed to bring together three rare forces: Baccarat’s 262-year crystal heritage, Sou Fujimoto’s organic architectural philosophy, and Saadiyat’s growing global presence in art and culture.
Our task was to translate this distinctive confluence into something more enduring beyond the market-standard sparkle. To move beyond chandeliers and ornamentation, and find the emotional essence of Baccarat: light, refracted through architecture, ritual and life.

Idea
Live in the shape of light.
At AKQA, I sought a narrative platform that turned light from an expected crystal motif into the North Star of a new, more faceted brand world.
From language to cinematic storytelling, light became a way to speak about arrival, stillness, craft, atmosphere and transformation. The result was a poetic visual language where architecture behaves like crystal, and living becomes a series of discerning, beautifully curated choices.
Following the light.
What begins as a pursuit becomes a transformation. The film was imagined as a cinematic journey from seeing light to living inside its shape.

Results & impact
Life, Curated.
The platform gave Baccarat Residences Saadiyat a distinctive creative language for one of Abu Dhabi’s most exclusive residential launches.
It framed the destination not simply as an ultra-prime property, but as a cultural collectible: a home at the intersection of heritage, ambition, coastline and contemporary art de vivre.
Launched publicly in February 2026 as the final development within Saadiyat Grove, the project overlooks Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and the Arabian Sea, placing Baccarat’s world of light at the centre of Abu Dhabi’s cultural horizon.
